YEIDA Film City – Detailed Description
YEIDA Film City, also known as the Yamuna Film City, is a major upcoming film and entertainment project being developed in Sector 21 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area in Uttar Pradesh. The project is located close to Noida International Airport, Jewar, and is planned over approximately 1,000 acres.
The main objective of the Film City is to establish a world-class integrated hub for filmmaking, entertainment, media and related industries. It is being planned as a place where film production can take place under one large ecosystem, including shooting, post-production, visual effects, music, education and entertainment.
The proposed Film City will include modern film studios, sound stages, outdoor shooting locations, production facilities, post-production and editing studios, VFX and animation facilities, music and dubbing studios, and film-related infrastructure. It is also planned to have a film institute to provide education and training to students and professionals interested in cinema and media.
The project is being developed in phases. The first phase covers around 230 acres, with an investment of approximately ₹1,510 crore. The larger 1,000-acre project is intended to develop into a complete entertainment and media ecosystem over subsequent phases.
One of the major advantages of the project is its strategic location near Noida International Airport and the Yamuna Expressway. This connectivity is expected to make it easier for filmmakers, actors, technicians, production companies and international visitors to access the facility.
YEIDA Film City is also expected to create employment opportunities in filmmaking, acting, direction, cinematography, animation, VFX, sound, editing, hospitality, tourism and other supporting industries. The project is intended to attract Bollywood, regional cinema, OTT platforms, television productions, advertising companies and international film productions.
Overall, YEIDA Film City is envisioned not simply as a collection of film studios, but as a large-scale media and entertainment destination combining film production, technology, education, tourism, hospitality and commercial activities. Once fully developed, it is expected to become an important part of the growing Noida–Greater Noida–Yamuna Expressway economic corridor.
